Barcelo Bavaro Palace in Punta Cana
I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic from December 1st to December 10th, 2022. Overall, I would rate my experience at this resort as a 7 out of 10. While there were certainly some positives to my stay, there were also a number of concerns that I encountered.
One of the standout features of the Barcelo Bavaro Palace is the resort itself. Located on a beautiful stretch of beach, the resort is surrounded by palm trees and offers stunning views of the Caribbean Sea. The grounds are well-maintained and there are plenty of areas to relax and enjoy the sunshine. The resort also has a number of pools, including a large main pool and a number of smaller pools scattered throughout the property. The pools were always clean and well-maintained, and there were plenty of chairs and loungers available for guests to use.
Another highlight of the Barcelo Bavaro Palace is the lobby area. The lobby is spacious and elegant, with high ceilings and plenty of seating areas. The staff at the front desk were always helpful and friendly, and they went out of their way to make sure that our stay was as comfortable as possible. There is also a small bar and café in the lobby, which is a great place to grab a quick bite to eat or a drink before heading out to explore the rest of the resort.
One of the main attractions of the Barcelo Bavaro Palace is the waterpark, and there are actually three different waterparks to choose from. The first waterpark is geared towards families with young children, and it features a number of shallow pools, water slides, and play areas. The second waterpark is geared towards older children and adults, and it features more challenging water slides and a wave pool. The third waterpark is an adults-only area, and it features a number of quiet pools and relaxing areas. All of the waterparks were well-maintained and clean, and there were always lifeguards on duty to ensure the safety of the guests.
In addition to the waterparks, the Barcelo Bavaro Palace also has a shopping center and a theatre. The shopping center is small but well-stocked, and it features a number of souvenir shops, clothing stores, and other retail outlets. The theatre is a nice addition to the resort, and it offers a variety of live shows and performances throughout the week. Some of the shows were quite good, and it was a nice way to spend an evening after a long day of sightseeing.
One of the main concerns I had about the Barcelo Bavaro Palace was the lack of entertainment for children during the evenings. While there were a few activities and shows for kids during the day, there was not much going on in the evenings. This was a bit of a disappointment, as I had hoped that there would be more activities and entertainment options available for the kids.
As for the restaurants, there are 11 different dining options at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace. The food was generally quite good, and there was a good variety of cuisines to choose from. Some of the standout restaurants included the Italian restaurant, which had delicious pasta dishes, and the seafood restaurant, which had a wide selection of fresh fish and shellfish. Overall, I was quite happy with the dining options at the resort.
